Brunei's Ministry of Foreign Affairs says the visa is issued for a fee of BND 20.00 or its equivalent.
San Marino citizens need a visa issued in advance by an embassy or consulate of Brunei. Start the application several weeks before departure: you will typically need a passport valid for six months with blank pages, a completed application form, passport photos, a travel itinerary, proof of accommodation and of sufficient funds, and sometimes an invitation letter or bank statements.
The main option is the Social visit visa (through a Brunei mission abroad), which costs 20 BND with a processing time of 14 business days.
Whatever your visa status, Brunei applies the same entry conditions to every traveller:
Brunei lets 59 passports in without a visa, offers a visa on arrival to 5 and requires an embassy visa from 133. San Marino citizens are treated the same way as Albania, Andorra, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Belarus. Overall the San Marino passport ranks #50 in the world with 102 visa-free destinations.
Planning a longer trip in Asia? With a San Marino passport you can also visit 16 countries in the region without a visa, including United Arab Emirates, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Macau and Malaysia.
In the other direction, Brunei citizens can visit San Marino visa-free for up to 30 days.
