Chad's immigration directorate says that from 11 May 2026 every new visa application must be submitted through the online platform evisa.td, and that after 21 May 2026 a visa issued outside the platform is invalid and does not allow entry. The platform says nationals of the countries on its exemption list are exempt from visas, and the CEMAC Additional Act of 25 June 2013 gives nationals of CEMAC member states the right to travel without a visa and stay up to 90 days in another member state. The UK government advises against all travel to the northern provinces, western Kanem, the Lake Chad region and within 30 km of Chad's other borders, and against all but essential travel to the rest of Chad.
