What the Laos visa rules mean for Republic of the Congo travellers
Republic of the Congo citizens need a visa issued in advance by an embassy or consulate of Laos. Start the application several weeks before departure: you will typically need a passport valid for six months with blank pages, a completed application form, passport photos, a travel itinerary, proof of accommodation and of sufficient funds, and sometimes an invitation letter or bank statements.
The main option is the Tourist visa (Lao embassy or consulate).
Documents to prepare
Whatever your visa status, Laos applies the same entry conditions to every traveller:
- Passport validity: The Lao eVisa terms say the passport should have a minimum validity of 6 months from the date of arrival in Laos; the UK government says your passport must have an expiry date at least 6 months after the date you arrive…
- Blank passport pages: Your passport needs at least 1 blank page.
- Travel insurance: No official source we could read makes insurance a condition of entry. The UK government says medical care in Laos can be basic, that outside the capital there are no reliable facilities to deal with medical emergencies…
- Return or onward ticket: No official source we could read states an onward-ticket requirement for Laos.
