What the Macau visa rules mean for Guinea-Bissau travellers
Guinea-Bissau passport holders can get a visa on arrival in Macau for stays of up to 30 days. There is nothing to apply for in advance — the visa is issued at the airport or land border after you pay the fee. Bring cash in a major currency, a passport valid for at least six months, a return ticket and the address of your first night's accommodation, and expect a queue at busy airports.
The main option is the Entry Permit (visa-upon-arrival), which costs 200 MOP.
Documents to prepare
Whatever your visa status, Macau applies the same entry conditions to every traveller:
- Passport validity: Macao’s Public Security Police says your passport or travel document should be valid for at least 90 days beyond the period of your intended stay in Macao.
- Travel insurance: No official source we could read states a travel insurance requirement for Macao.
- Return or onward ticket: Visitors must hold a valid onward or return ticket, unless they can prove they live in mainland China or Hong Kong; that exemption does not apply to Chinese or Hong Kong SAR passport holders transiting Macao to another …
- Proof of funds: Visitors must be able to show means of subsistence for their stay: at least MOP 5,000 for up to 7 days, MOP 10,000 for up to 14 days, MOP 15,000 for up to 21 days and MOP 20,000 for longer stays.
