Serranía de Los Churumbelos Auka-Wasi National Natural Park is one of 39 national parks in Colombia — Colombian national park. It covers 562 km² (56,200 ha) — about 72% of the size of New York City, making it the #26 largest national park in Colombia (0.5% of the country's national park area).

History and protection

The park was established in 2007, 19 years ago — the first national parks in Colombia date back to 1964. It is listed in IUCN category II: National Park — protecting whole ecosystems while welcoming visitors for recreation and education.
