JetBlue has launched daily nonstop flights between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and Ernesto Cortissoz International Airport in Barranquilla, on Colombia's Caribbean coast. The service began on 1 October 2026, and a second new Colombian route to Cali follows later in the month.

Key facts

  • Route 1: Fort Lauderdale–Barranquilla, daily nonstops from 1 October 2026
  • Route 2: Fort Lauderdale–Cali, nonstop service from 15 October 2026
  • Aircraft: Airbus A320 on both routes, with about 162 passenger seats
  • On board: free high-speed Wi-Fi and a screen at every seat
  • Colombian cities served by JetBlue: four — Barranquilla, Cali, Medellín and Cartagena

What are the flight times?

Flight 1957 leaves Fort Lauderdale daily at 11:05 a.m. and lands in Barranquilla at 12:55 p.m. The return, flight 1958, departs Barranquilla at 2:05 p.m. and arrives in Fort Lauderdale by 5:56 p.m.

JetBlue advises travellers to check with the airline for any changes to the schedule. No flight times have been announced for the Cali service.

Which Colombian cities does JetBlue now serve?

Barranquilla and Cali become the third and fourth Colombian destinations in JetBlue's network. The airline already operates flights between Fort Lauderdale and Medellín and Cartagena.

Travellers will have alternatives on these routes. Colombian carrier Avianca flies daily nonstops between Fort Lauderdale and Bogotá, Medellín, Cali and Barranquilla, while American Airlines operates a number of flights between Miami International Airport and several Colombian cities.

What is on board?

Passengers on the Colombia flights get free high-speed Wi-Fi and a screen at each seat. Travellers booked into "EvenMore", the airline's premium economy, get extra legroom.

Why is JetBlue expanding at Fort Lauderdale?

The new routes form part of a wider build-up at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood. After Spirit Airlines shut down on 2 May, JetBlue added 11 new destinations from the airport. By early July it was operating more than 125 daily departures to over 55 nonstop destinations from FLL — its largest schedule ever there — with daily departures up more than 75% on the same period in 2025.

JetBlue President Marty St. George has forecast 150 departures out of Fort Lauderdale by February 2027. The airline is also making the airport a hub this year, scheduling flights so travellers can connect onward, something St. George said the carrier has "not done anywhere else."

The airline now ranks first for passenger numbers at FLL, handling 6.1 million passengers this year through the end of August, a 39.8% increase on the same period in 2025. Its market share stands at 28%, with Delta Air Lines second on 13%.

What this means for travellers

Travellers heading to Colombia's Caribbean coast now have a daily nonstop option from Fort Lauderdale to Barranquilla, with a Cali alternative starting 15 October 2026. Those continuing to other parts of the United States can connect through Fort Lauderdale, which JetBlue is developing as a connecting gateway.

Anyone considering these routes should check the current schedule with JetBlue before booking, as the airline notes times may change.

Colombia was Florida's fifth-largest export market in 2025, accounting for $2.7 billion, and JetBlue sees Fort Lauderdale as a link between the United States, Latin America and the Caribbean. Further schedule details for the Cali route have yet to be announced.
