What is changing?
From 25 October 2026, Air France will place its code on flights operated by Air Côte d'Ivoire between Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Abidjan Félix Houphouët-Boigny. In the other direction, Air Côte d'Ivoire will market flights operated by Air France on the same route under its own code.
By combining the two carriers' frequencies, customers of both airlines gain a wider choice of departure times between France and Côte d'Ivoire. Together the airlines will offer 20 weekly flights between Paris and Abidjan — 12 operated by Air France and eight by Air Côte d'Ivoire.
What happens to frequent flyer miles?
The airlines have aligned their loyalty programmes, Air France's Flying Blue and Air Côte d'Ivoire's sMiles, with launch planned for the end of 2026. sMiles members will be able to earn miles on Air France-operated flights between Abidjan and Paris and, in due course, redeem them across the entire Air France network. Flying Blue members will be able to earn and redeem miles on Air Côte d'Ivoire-operated flights between Paris and Abidjan.
Why is this happening?
Air France has been a shareholder and strategic partner of Air Côte d'Ivoire since the Ivorian airline was founded in 2012. The codeshare is described by the airlines as a further step in that cooperation and a reflection of a shared commitment to strengthening connectivity between France and Côte d'Ivoire over the long term.
Laurent Loukou, Chief Executive Officer of Air Côte d'Ivoire, said the codeshare is "the first step in a partnership that will be extended to other destinations" across the Air France network before the end of the first half of 2027. He added that Air Côte d'Ivoire flights will be marketed through Air France's global network to and from Côte d'Ivoire from the launch of the agreement.
What this means for travellers
Passengers booking between Paris and Abidjan should see a broader range of departure times under either airline's code from 25 October 2026. Frequent flyers can expect reciprocal earning and redemption on the route once the loyalty alignment launches at the end of 2026.
The airlines say the codeshare will be extended to further destinations across the Air France network before the end of the first half of 2027; no specific destinations have been announced.
