What size is a Qatar passport photo?
The official Qatar passport photo size is 38×48 mm (1.5 × 1.89 inches). For a digital file that is 449 × 567 pixels at 300 dpi, or 898 × 1134 pixels at 600 dpi if you want extra sharpness for printing. From chin to the top of the head the face must measure 33.6–38.4 mm, which is 70–80% of the photo height. The eyes should sit 14.4–23 mm below the top edge.
The background must be light grey, evenly lit and without shadows or patterns. Look straight at the camera with a neutral expression and your mouth closed, keep both eyes open and visible, and remove glasses if they reflect light or hide your eyes.
Same size in other countries
The same 38×48 mm format is used for passports in 1 other country, including Myanmar. Worldwide the most common passport photo size is 35×45 mm (127 countries), so do not reuse a 35×45 mm photo for a Qatar passport.
Qatar also sets photo rules for qatar hayya e-visa / entry permit (tourist, gcc resident, a1/a2, events) (30×40 mm), id card (qid) (38×48 mm) and qatar residence permit (rp) / qatar id card (qid) for expatriates (38×48 mm) — pick the document in the tool above to get the right crop.
How to make and print a Qatar passport photo at home
Take a well-lit photo against a plain wall, upload it to the free photo maker above and choose Qatar — Passport. The tool detects your face, crops it to the exact 38×48 mm size, replaces the background with light grey and checks sharpness, lighting, red-eye and head position. Download the digital file for an online application, or the print sheet: one standard 10×15 cm (4×6 in) photo print holds 4 Qatar passport photos, which costs a fraction of a photo booth.
