Visa & Entry Requirements for San Marino
Most travellers need a visa for San Marino: 105 of 198 passports must apply at an embassy or consulate, while 93 passports enter visa-free.
San Marino's Foreign Ministry says that reaching San Marino means crossing the Schengen Area, so visitors from states outside it must hold the authorisations needed to enter and transit the Schengen Area before they leave, and should contact the embassies or consulates of Schengen states where they normally live for information. It says a stay of more than 30 days requires a permit of stay or residence. The UK government tells British citizens they do not need to pass through border controls to enter San Marino, but must have a passport containing a valid entry stamp from a Schengen area country.
