What the Sierra Leone visa rules mean for Iceland travellers
Iceland passport holders need an eVisa to enter Sierra Leone. You apply online, upload a passport scan and a photo, pay the fee and receive the visa by email; it allows stays of up to 30 days. Apply at least one to two weeks before your trip and print the approval — some airlines and border officers ask to see it on paper.
The main option is the Sierra Leone eVisa, which costs 80 USD.
Documents to prepare
Whatever your visa status, Sierra Leone applies the same entry conditions to every traveller:
- Passport validity: Sierra Leone's eVisa portal says that to apply, your travel document must be valid for at least 6 months from the date you intend to enter the country.
- Vaccinations: Yellow fever: The UK Foreign Office says you must have a certificate proving yellow fever vaccination to enter Sierra Leone.
- Travel insurance: No official source we could read states a travel insurance requirement for visitors to Sierra Leone.
- Return or onward ticket: No official source states a return or onward ticket requirement for visitors to Sierra Leone.
