What the Slovenia visa rules mean for Trinidad and Tobago travellers

Trinidad and Tobago citizens can enter Slovenia without a visa and stay for up to 90 days. You only need a valid Trinidad and Tobago passport at the border; immigration officers may still ask for a return or onward ticket, proof of accommodation and enough money for your stay. The 90-day limit usually counts calendar days from your arrival, so book your return flight inside that window.

Overstay penalties

1,200 euros

A foreigner whose permitted stay under the law, the Schengen Convention or an international treaty has expired commits a misdemeanour and is fined 800 to 1,200 euros. The police issue a return decision to a foreigner staying illegally, except in certain cases. The return decision sets an entry ban to Slovenia and the EU and Schengen area: one year where a voluntary-departure period was set, not enforced if the foreigner leaves within that period, and five years where the stay is a danger to public order, public security or national security.

Customs allowances

If you enter or leave the EU with €10,000 in cash (or its equivalent in other currencies), you must declare it to the customs authorities in the EU country you are entering or leaving. Canada's travel advice says this does not apply if you are travelling within the European Union.
