What the South Sudan visa rules mean for Mali travellers
Mali passport holders need an eVisa to enter South Sudan. You apply online, upload a passport scan and a photo, pay the fee and receive the visa by email. Apply at least one to two weeks before your trip and print the approval — some airlines and border officers ask to see it on paper.
The main option is the Visa (apply online).
Documents to prepare
Whatever your visa status, South Sudan applies the same entry conditions to every traveller:

- Vaccinations: Yellow fever: WHO's country list says proof of vaccination against yellow fever is required for all travellers aged 9 months or over.
- Vaccinations: Malaria prophylaxis: Not an entry requirement. WHO's country list says malaria risk, predominantly P. falciparum, exists throughout the year in the entire country.
- Travel insurance: No official source we could read states a travel-insurance requirement for South Sudan. The UK Foreign Office says health facilities are extremely limited throughout the country and many medical problems need evacuation…
