What the Ukraine visa rules mean for Marshall Islands travellers

Marshall Islands citizens can enter Ukraine without a visa and stay for up to 90 days. You only need a valid Marshall Islands passport at the border; immigration officers may still ask for a return or onward ticket, proof of accommodation and enough money for your stay. The 90-day limit usually counts calendar days from your arrival, so book your return flight inside that window.

Proof of funds

Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 884 of 2013, adopted under Article 21 of the Law on the Legal Status of Foreigners, says foreigners must have funds of 20 times Ukraine's monthly subsistence minimum per month, calculated for other lengths of stay as ((20 × the monthly minimum) ÷ 30) × (days of stay + 5). It can be established by cash, a document entitling you to funds from a Ukrainian bank, a payment card with a bank statement, an accommodation booking, a tour voucher, a host's guarantee letter or a return ticket with a fixed date, and is checked by Ukraine's missions when issuing visas, at border checkpoints during second-line control, and by the migration service when extending a stay.
