What the Azerbaijan visa rules mean for Bhutan travellers
Bhutan citizens need a visa issued in advance by an embassy or consulate of Azerbaijan. Start the application several weeks before departure: you will typically need a passport valid for six months with blank pages, a completed application form, passport photos, a travel itinerary, proof of accommodation and of sufficient funds, and sometimes an invitation letter or bank statements.
The main option is the Ordinary entry visa with a processing time of —.
Documents to prepare
Whatever your visa status, Azerbaijan applies the same entry conditions to every traveller:
- Passport validity: Azerbaijan's e-Visa portal says the expiry date of your passport or other travel document should be at least 3 months later than the expiry date of the e-Visa.
- Travel insurance: No official source we could read states an insurance requirement for visitors. Canada's travel advice says to make sure you get travel insurance that includes coverage for medical evacuation and hospital stays.
- Return or onward ticket: No official source we could read states whether Azerbaijan requires a return or onward ticket.
- Proof of funds: No official source we could read states a proof-of-funds requirement or amount for Azerbaijan.
