Macau passport holders do not need a visa to visit Azerbaijan for stays of up to 30 days.
Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry exempts citizens of the People's Republic of China holding ordinary passports issued by the Government of the Hong Kong or Macao Special Administrative Region from visas on a unilateral basis from February 2, 2026 to February 2, 2027: 3 times and up to 30 days per entry.

Macau citizens can enter Azerbaijan without a visa and stay for up to 30 days. You only need a valid Macau passport at the border; immigration officers may still ask for a return or onward ticket, proof of accommodation and enough money for your stay. The 30-day limit usually counts calendar days from your arrival, so book your return flight inside that window.

Foreigners staying in Azerbaijan for more than 15 days (more than 30 days for citizens of Kazakhstan) must register at their place of stay. They must apply within 15 days of arrival (30 days for citizens of Kazakhstan) through the State Migration Service's electronic services, by e-mail, or in person at regional migration departments or ASAN service centres. No state fee is charged for registration. Failure to register within the required period is a basis for administrative liability.

Under the Code of Administrative Offences, a foreigner who evades leaving Azerbaijan after their period of stay or residence ends is fined 300 to 400 manat, with or without administrative expulsion. The UK government adds that an overstayer may have to leave within 48 hours, should contact the State Migration Service for a letter permitting departure, and should keep the receipt for the fine.

Azerbaijan's customs service says foreign currency can be brought in without any restrictions, by complying with customs procedures. You may take out foreign currency up to the equivalent of USD 10,000 in cash via oral declaration; from USD 10,000 to USD 50,000 in cash by submitting the customs documents and written declaration certifying that you brought that amount in; in all other cases it can be taken out by transfer via authorized banks and national postal operators.
