The eVisa portal lists a travel itinerary and hotel bookings or details of the places you will visit among the documents to show on arrival, and the Egyptian Consulate in Washington asks visa applicants for a copy of a round-trip ticket.

The UK government says that leaving Egypt on an expired visa may bring difficulties, including a fine if the visa expired more than 14 days earlier.
