Bosnian Travellers to Azerbaijan No Longer Need Visas, 30-Day Stays Allowed
Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has published a list of nine countries whose ordinary passport holders can enter visa-free, staying up to 30 days per visit and making up to three entries a year. Bosnia and Herzegovina is on the list.

Travellers holding ordinary passports from nine countries, including Bosnia and Herzegovina, can enter Azerbaijan without a visa and stay up to 30 days per visit, under an official list published by Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs as part of its visa category updates.
The arrangement is unilateral, meaning Azerbaijan extended the privilege on its own and does not require the listed countries to offer the same concession in return.
Key facts
- Nine countries are covered across Asia, the Middle East and Europe
- Each stay is capped at 30 days
- Eligible travellers may make up to three entries within a one-year window
- The rules apply only to ordinary passport holders
- No prior visa authorisation is required
Which countries are on the list?
Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs named nine eligible countries: Bosnia and Herzegovina; the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; the Sultanate of Oman; the Kingdom of Bahrain; the State of Kuwait; Japan; the Republic of Korea; the Republic of Singapore; and citizens of the People's Republic of China holding ordinary passports officially issued by the Governments of the Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions.
How long can I stay?
Visitors from the listed countries may stay up to 30 days on each entry, with no single visit exceeding that limit. They can enter Azerbaijan up to three separate times within a one-year window.
Which passports qualify?
The visa-free regime applies only to holders of ordinary passports, as specified in the official document. For Chinese nationals, only ordinary passports officially issued by the Governments of the Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions are covered.
Is the arrangement reciprocal?
No. Azerbaijani authorities describe it as a unilateral visa-free regime, so the country granted the benefit independently, without requiring the listed nations to offer the same treatment to Azerbaijani passport holders in return.
What about travellers from other countries?
The published list covers only the nine countries named. Passport holders from nations not on the list are not covered by the arrangement and would still need to apply for a visa before travelling to Azerbaijan.
What this means for travellers
Bosnian and Herzegovinian ordinary passport holders planning a trip to Azerbaijan can enter without arranging a visa in advance, provided each stay does not exceed 30 days and they make no more than three entries within a year. Travellers should check which of their passport types qualifies before booking, since the policy applies to ordinary passports only.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs published the list as part of its visa category updates. The announcement does not state a start date for the arrangement.
