New Aircraft Boosts Domestic Flights in Cape Verde
Cape Verde's state-owned airline CVsky has received a new ATR 72-600 aircraft, expanding its fleet to enhance domestic flight services across the archipelago.

CVsky, the state-owned airline of Cape Verde, has recently added a new ATR 72-600 turboprop to its fleet. This aircraft, designated D4-CCP, was delivered in Toulouse and is the first of two new planes intended to enhance the airline's domestic operations.
Fleet Expansion
The new ATR 72-600 will increase CVsky's fleet from two to four aircraft, allowing the airline to better serve the inter-island travel needs of Cape Verde. The aircraft is currently being painted in the airline's colors in France and is expected to arrive in Cape Verde by the end of October.
Operational Benefits
CVsky's ATR 72-600s are specifically designed for short domestic flights, with the average flight duration being around 36 minutes. The turboprop aircraft can operate from shorter runways, making them suitable for several airports within the archipelago, including Maio, São Nicolau, and Fogo.
Background of CVsky
Established in 2024, CVsky provides essential domestic passenger and cargo services across Cape Verde. The airline received its Air Operator Certificate in December 2025 and has since taken over inter-island services that were previously managed by other operators.
The introduction of this new aircraft marks a significant step in enhancing the connectivity and travel experience for both residents and visitors in Cape Verde.
