Air France and Air Côte d'Ivoire have agreed a reciprocal codeshare on the Paris Charles de Gaulle–Abidjan route, starting 25 October 2026. Passengers will be able to book the route through either airline and travel under either carrier's flight code. The deal was announced during the Association of Francophone Air Carriers (ATAF) meeting in Ajaccio.
Key facts
- The codeshare covers the Paris Charles de Gaulle–Abidjan route
- It takes effect on 25 October 2026
- It is reciprocal: tickets are sold under either airline's flight code
- Loyalty benefits between Flying Blue and sMiles are planned for the end of 2026
- More destinations across Air France's network are expected before the end of June 2027
What does the codeshare change?
Customers gain access to both airlines' services under either carrier's flight code. The agreement widens the range of departure times available through each airline's booking channels, and Air Côte d'Ivoire's Paris flights also gain access to Air France's global distribution network.
When does it start, and what else is planned?
The codeshare begins on 25 October 2026. Air Côte d'Ivoire chief executive Laurent Loukou described it as the first phase of a wider partnership, with additional destinations across Air France's network expected to be added before the end of June 2027. Air France has been a shareholder and strategic partner of the Ivorian carrier since its creation in 2012.
What is happening to frequent flyer miles?
Reciprocal loyalty benefits between Flying Blue and sMiles are planned for the end of 2026. Flying Blue members will be able to earn and redeem miles on Air Côte d'Ivoire-operated Paris–Abidjan flights, while sMiles members will earn miles on Air France services along the same route. Redemption by sMiles members across Air France's wider network is envisaged at a later stage.
What this means for travellers
From 25 October 2026, passengers flying between Paris and Abidjan can shop for the route through either airline and book under either flight code, with a broader choice of departure times across the two carriers' booking channels. Frequent flyers in either programme should watch for the reciprocal earning and redemption arrangements planned for the end of 2026.
No further details have been given on which destinations will be added to the codeshare before the end of June 2027, or the precise timing of the loyalty tie-up within the end-of-2026 window.
