Prague Airport to Enhance Self-Service Check-In by 2027
Prague Airport is set to upgrade its self-service check-in facilities in April 2027, improving passenger processing across both terminals. The modernization aims to streamline the travel experience as passenger numbers continue to rise.

Václav Havel Airport Prague is planning a significant upgrade to its self-service check-in technology, scheduled to be implemented in April 2027. This modernization aims to enhance passenger processing across both terminals, responding to the increasing number of travelers.
What Changes Are Coming?
The airport has entered into a six-year contract valued at CZK 195 million to replace existing passenger-processing equipment. This upgrade will include new check-in and transfer desks, as well as departure gates, enhancing the overall efficiency of the airport's operations.
Who Will Benefit?
Travelers will benefit from expanded self-service options, allowing them to check in and handle baggage without needing to visit a staffed counter. Currently, the airport features 31 self-service check-in kiosks and 20 self-service bag-drop units, which will be increased with the new system.
Additional Improvements
In addition to the self-service enhancements, Terminal 1 will also see an expansion of its border-control facilities. This includes the addition of five conventional passport-control desks and four automated EasyGoGate systems, which will allow eligible passengers to process their passport control automatically.
The overall upgrades at Prague Airport are designed to create a more automated and efficient travel experience, accommodating the growing passenger numbers and improving the flow through the airport.
