Ghana and Other African Nations Granted 30-Day Visa-Free Entry to Philippines
Ghanaian passport holders can now enter the Philippines for up to 30 days without a visa, along with nationals from 45 other African countries. Specific entry requirements must be met.

The Philippines has announced that citizens from Ghana and 45 other African nations can now enjoy visa-free entry for an initial stay of up to 30 days. This new arrangement aims to strengthen ties and promote tourism between the Philippines and participating countries.
Entry Requirements
To qualify for this visa-free entry, Ghanaian travellers must hold a passport that is valid for at least six months beyond their intended stay in the Philippines. Additionally, they must possess a return or onward ticket to their next destination.
Extension of Stay
Visitors who wish to extend their stay beyond the initial 30 days may apply for an additional 29-day extension. This extension is subject to approval from the Philippine Bureau of Immigration and compliance with applicable immigration requirements and fees.
Countries Included
The list of African countries eligible for this visa-free arrangement includes, but is not limited to:
- Angola
- Benin
- Burkina Faso
- Kenya
- South Africa
- Zimbabwe
- Liberia
It is important for travellers to note that being on the visa-free list does not guarantee automatic admission into the Philippines. Upon arrival, they will still be subject to immigration inspection and must meet all entry conditions.
This new policy provides an excellent opportunity for Ghanaian citizens to explore the Philippines without the hassle of obtaining a visa in advance, provided they adhere to the stipulated requirements.
