Russia Allows 30-Day Visa-Free Entry for Vietnamese Citizens Starting October 15
Vietnamese citizens can enter Russia without a visa for up to 30 days for various purposes starting October 15, 2026.

Starting October 15, 2026, Vietnamese citizens will be permitted to enter Russia without a visa for a duration of up to 30 days. This new policy, signed into effect by Russian President Vladimir Putin, aims to facilitate travel for tourism, family visits, business, and other activities.
Details of the Visa-Free Entry
The visa exemption applies to holders of ordinary Vietnamese passports. Eligible activities include tourism, family visits, business, scientific, cultural, political, and social engagements, as well as transit through Russia. However, the exemption does not cover employment, study, or long-term residency.
Impact on Travel
Approximately 15,000 Vietnamese tourists visit Russia each year. In contrast, Vietnam welcomed around 1.13 million Russian visitors in the first nine months of 2026, marking a significant increase compared to previous years. This reciprocal visa policy is expected to further enhance tourism between the two countries.
Duration of the Policy
The visa-free entry policy will remain in effect until October 15, 2027. This initiative is part of broader efforts to strengthen ties and boost tourism between Vietnam and Russia.
Travelers are encouraged to check for any additional entry requirements or updates before planning their trips to Russia.
