What is changing?
Until now, travellers moving between Toronto and Tobago have had to connect through Piarco International Airport in Port of Spain, on the island of Trinidad. The new Caribbean Airlines service links Toronto Pearson and A.N.R. Robinson International Airport in Tobago directly.
The flights operate weekly on Sundays in both directions. No fares have been announced in the airline's announcement.
Who is affected?
The route is aimed at travellers between Toronto and Tobago, one half of the dual-island nation of Trinidad and Tobago. The island lies just off the coast of Venezuela and is known for its beaches, cuisine and natural attractions, including the Main Ridge Forest Reserve, described as the oldest protected rainforest in the Western Hemisphere.
Caribbean Airlines already flies non-stop between Toronto and Trinidad. It competes with Air Canada on that route.
When do the new flights start?
The first flights on the Toronto–Tobago route are scheduled for 25 October 2026, with the service running on Sundays. The airline announced the expansion on Friday.
What this means for travellers
Travellers heading to Tobago from Toronto will no longer need to factor in a connection through Port of Spain. Bookings are already open, so anyone planning winter travel can check the Sunday departures directly with the airline.
No end date, seasonal schedule or additional frequencies have been announced, and no change has been announced for the existing Toronto–Trinidad service.
