What the Spain visa rules mean for Nicaragua travellers
Nicaragua citizens can enter Spain without a visa and stay for up to 90 days. You only need a valid Nicaragua passport at the border; immigration officers may still ask for a return or onward ticket, proof of accommodation and enough money for your stay. The 90-day limit usually counts calendar days from your arrival, so book your return flight inside that window.
Documents to prepare
Whatever your visa status, Spain applies the same entry conditions to every traveller:
- Passport validity: The UK government says British visitors' passports must have been issued less than 10 years before arrival and expire at least 3 months after the day they plan to leave the Schengen Area.
- Blank passport pages: Your passport needs at least 2 blank pages.
- Travel insurance: The EU Visa Code requires Schengen visa applicants to hold travel medical insurance with minimum cover of EUR 30,000, valid throughout the Schengen states for the whole stay.
- Return or onward ticket: No official source we could read states that a return or onward ticket is required to enter Spain. The Schengen Borders Code (Annex I) lists a return or round-trip ticket among the supporting documents that may be used …
