Visit Finland is inviting 16 single people from around the world to join a fully hosted four-day food trip to Finland in February 2027, ending with a blind group dinner date. The national tourism body says the trips are fully covered, and applications are open now with a short video entry.

Key facts

  • 16 places in total, split into two groups of eight
  • Trips run between 9 and 19 February 2027 and last four days
  • Destinations are Helsinki or Tampere, in Finland's Lakeland region — your city is only revealed once your place is confirmed
  • The trip is fully covered and hosted
  • Applications close at 9.59am GMT on Tuesday 10 November 2026
  • Winners are announced on 1 December on Visit Finland's Instagram and TikTok

What does the trip involve?

Each itinerary is built around food, with a series of food-focused activities before the headline event: a group dinner at a surprise location. Winners will be joined by local Finnish singles over one of the country's official tasting menus.

The menu in Helsinki comes from Adele Kinnunen, head chef at Café Savoy, who has appeared on MasterChef Professionals. In Tampere — which calls itself the sauna capital of the world — the menu is by Henry Tikkanen of restaurant Gösta, who has represented Finland at the Bocuse d'Or.

Who can apply?

Visit Finland is looking for singles from around the world. The concept builds on Finland's viral Sinkkukori trend, in which single shoppers pick up pink baskets in the supermarket to signal that they are open to meeting someone. Heli Jimenez, senior director of international marketing at Business Finland, said visitors "may find love" — with each other, with Finnish food, or with their new favourite travel destination.

How do I apply?

Applicants must answer one question: what would you serve on a dinner date, and why? Record a short video in English answering it, then post it on Instagram, TikTok or YouTube using the hashtag #FinnishDinnerDate and tag Visit Finland. Finally, complete the application form at FinnishDinnerDate.com and include a link to your video. Anyone who prefers not to post publicly can upload the video to YouTube as an unlisted video instead.

What this means for travellers

Anyone interested in the trip needs to film and post their video and submit the form before 9.59am GMT on 10 November 2026. Because the destination is only revealed after selection, applicants should be prepared to travel to either Helsinki or Tampere between 9 and 19 February 2027.

The source does not set out an age limit, nationality restrictions, or any visa or entry requirements for winners, and does not say exactly which costs are covered beyond describing the trip as fully covered and hosted.
