Haiti Introduces New Passport Fees for Citizens Abroad
Haiti has implemented new passport fees for citizens applying at diplomatic missions abroad, effective October 5, 2026. The changes include a prohibition on additional charges and expedited services.

The Haitian government has announced new passport fees for citizens applying for passports at diplomatic missions and consular posts located abroad. These changes were officially communicated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Religious Affairs, with the new fee structure taking effect on October 5, 2026.
New Fee Structure
Under the revised guidelines, the cost for adult passport applications is set at US$150, while applications for minors will be charged at US$125. This new pricing aims to standardize the passport application process for Haitian citizens living outside the country.
Prohibition of Additional Charges
The Ministry has explicitly stated that any additional fees for passport processing are illegal and prohibited. This includes any charges for expedited or emergency processing services, which have also been banned. All applications will be treated equally, reflecting a commitment to fair service for all Haitian citizens.
Implementation and Oversight
Haitian diplomatic missions and consular posts have been directed to ensure strict compliance with these new regulations. They are also required to transfer any previously collected passport fees to the Haitian Treasury, thereby promoting financial accountability within the system.
These changes are part of Haiti's ongoing efforts to improve the passport application process for its citizens abroad, ensuring transparency and fairness in the handling of passport services.
