Emirates is replacing the Boeing 777 with its Airbus A350 on one of its three daily flights between Dubai and Mauritius from 1 November 2026. The aircraft swap covers flights EK709 and EK710 between Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport (MRU), and gives the route the airline's newest Business Class cabin for the first time.

Key facts

  • Effective date: 1 November 2026
  • Flights affected: EK709 and EK710, Dubai (DXB) – Mauritius (MRU)
  • Aircraft: Airbus A350 replaces the Boeing 777; the other two daily flights stay on Airbus A380s
  • Seats: 298 in total — 32 Business Class, 28 Premium Economy, 238 Economy
  • Cabins: newest Business Class on the Mauritius route for the first time

What is changing?

Emirates has announced plans to put the A350 on one of its three daily Dubai–Mauritius rotations, replacing the Boeing 777 on that pairing. The airline's two other daily services to the island continue to be operated by Airbus A380 aircraft.

All three daily Mauritius flights now offer Premium Economy, according to Emirates. The airline also states that passengers can connect in Dubai to more than 70 destinations across Europe, Asia and the Americas.

What are the flight times?

Emirates has published a daily schedule for the A350 service, with all times local:

  • EK709: departs Dubai at 07:55, arrives in Mauritius at 14:40
  • EK710: departs Mauritius at 18:30, arrives in Dubai at 01:10 the next day

What is on board?

Business Class is laid out in a 1-2-1 configuration, so every passenger has direct aisle access. Seats are fully flat and come with a 20-inch 4K screen, a personal mini-bar, wireless charging and Bulgari amenity kits, plus a self-service snack area at the rear of the cabin.

Premium Economy has a 2-3-2 layout with seats 19.5 inches wide, footrests, six-way adjustable headrests and 13.3-inch screens. Passengers also receive priority boarding, a dedicated check-in area in Dubai and a baggage allowance of up to 35 kilograms.

Economy seats have adjustable leather headrests and 13.3-inch 4K touchscreens with Bluetooth connectivity.

What this means for travellers

Travellers booked on EK709 or EK710 from 1 November 2026 onwards should expect the A350 rather than the Boeing 777, and can check the operating aircraft and cabin layout when reserving. Passengers wanting the new Business Class product need to be on the A350-operated flights, since the other two daily services run on A380s. Premium Economy passengers on the route can use the dedicated Dubai check-in area, priority boarding and the 35-kilogram baggage allowance described by Emirates.

Oomar Ramtoola, Emirates' Manager for the Indian Ocean Islands, described the A350 as a further step in the airline's investment in Mauritius, saying that alongside the two daily A380 flights it shows the island's importance within the Emirates network. No further route changes for Mauritius have been announced.
