Saint Lucia is intensifying its outreach to Canadian tourists through expanded airlift options and a winter marketing campaign, responding to a notable increase in visitor numbers from Canada.

Increased Airlift to Saint Lucia

The Saint Lucia Tourism Authority (SLTA) reported a 20 percent rise in Canadian arrivals from January to July. In response, Air Canada and WestJet are set to boost their weekly services to the island, with WestJet adding three flights per week and Air Canada increasing its frequency by four flights, continuing through April 2027.

Targeting the Canadian Market

During recent meetings with airline partners in Toronto, the SLTA emphasized the importance of engaging with Canadian airlines and travel partners. The authority aims to further enhance its presence in Canada by exploring additional partnerships with carriers like Porter Airlines and Air Transat.

Winter Campaign Launch

Saint Lucia is preparing to launch its winter marketing campaign, which aims to attract Canadian travelers seeking new vacation destinations. The campaign will highlight the island's rich history, cultural identity, and commitment to sustainability, aligning with the values of many Canadian tourists.

Tourism Development on the Island

In addition to increased airlift, Saint Lucia is experiencing significant tourism development, including new hotels and resorts. The recent opening of TheLifeCo, a wellness-focused hotel, is part of a broader effort to expand the island's accommodation offerings.

With these initiatives, Saint Lucia is poised to strengthen its appeal to Canadian visitors, fostering deeper connections and enriching travel experiences.
