Singapore work pass portal updates take effect on 29 October 2026
Singapore's Ministry of Manpower will introduce changes to the myMOM Portal work pass application system on 29 October 2026, adding automatic data pre-filling and new travel document upload rules. Applicants should check the new passport image requirements before submitting.

Changes to Singapore's myMOM Portal for work pass applications will take effect on 29 October 2026, Singapore's Ministry of Manpower (MOM) has announced. The updates cover both how application forms are filled in and how travel documents must be uploaded, and applicants who do not follow the new document rules risk delays in processing.
Key facts
- Start date: 29 October 2026
- Announced: 20 May 2026, with the effective date confirmed on 20 October 2026
- Affected: applicants filing work pass applications through the myMOM Portal
- Form: candidate details will be pre-filled for existing Foreign Identification Number holders
- Documents: only the biodata page of the travel document is required in most cases
What is changing in the application form?
Candidate details will be automatically pre-populated for applicants who already hold a Foreign Identification Number and whose valid passport information is on file in the system. The application form will also be reorganised to make it easier to use and to simplify what applicants have to type in.
MOM also plans to extend this automation to applications with no previous or existing record by reading details from the uploaded passport copy and entering them into the form. The source does not give a date for when that extension will happen.
What are the new travel document upload rules?
Applicants now need to upload only the biodata page of their travel document. Amendments or Observation pages are required only when they show changes to the details on the biodata page.
Each page must be saved as a separate image file in JPG, PNG or PDF format. Images must be in landscape orientation and correctly oriented, and the biodata page should be uploaded before any additional pages.
What this means for travellers
Anyone submitting a Singapore work pass application through the myMOM Portal on or after 29 October 2026 should prepare passport images that meet the new format rules — single files, landscape, correct orientation — and upload the biodata page first. MOM says failing to meet the requirements can delay application processing, so documents should be checked before submission.
Applicants who already hold a Foreign Identification Number and have valid passport details on file should find less manual data entry under the new system. The changes are limited to the application and document upload process; the source does not state any changes to work pass eligibility, fees or processing times.
