Visa & Entry Requirements for Taiwan
Most travellers need a visa for Taiwan: 107 of 198 passports must apply at an embassy or consulate, while 65 passports enter visa-free.
Taiwan's Bureau of Consular Affairs (BOCA) lists the nationalities eligible for visa-exempt entry — up to 90 days for countries including Australia, Canada, Japan, the Republic of Korea, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States, up to 30 days for Malaysia, Singapore and some others, and 14 days for Brunei, Oman, the Philippines and Thailand. It lists other nationalities as eligible for an eVisa when they meet the relevant criteria, and says foreign nationals not eligible for an eVisa apply at a Taiwan overseas mission. Nationals of India, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam can apply online for a Travel Authorization Certificate if they meet its requirements.
