What the Taiwan visa rules mean for India travellers
India citizens do not need a full visa for Taiwan, but they must obtain an electronic travel authorisation (eTA) online before they fly — valid for stays of up to 14 days. An eTA is linked to your passport number and is usually approved within minutes to a few days; airlines check it at check-in, so apply before you book non-refundable travel.
The main option is the Travel Authorization Certificate (TAC).

- Travel insurance: No official source we could read states a travel insurance requirement for Taiwan. The UK government advises appropriate travel insurance for local treatment or unexpected medical evacuation.
- Return or onward ticket: BOCA says visa-exempt entry requires a confirmed return air or sea ticket, or a ticket and a visa for the next destination, and a confirmed seat reservation for the departure flight.
