Man Arrested for Using Fake Passport in Buckhannon
A man was arrested in Buckhannon for allegedly using a fake Guatemalan passport while driving without a license. He faces multiple felony charges and is currently held on a cash-only bond.

In a recent incident in Buckhannon, West Virginia, a 20-year-old man was arrested for allegedly presenting a fake passport during a traffic stop. Cleider Josue Donis Tay, who is suspected of being in the country illegally, faces several felony charges related to forgery.
Details of the Arrest
The arrest occurred when Patrolman C. Spotloe noticed a vehicle with a malfunctioning tail light. Upon stopping the vehicle, the driver, identified as Cleider Josue, was unable to provide a valid driver's license and instead presented a library card and a temporary vehicle registration. When asked for his passport, Josue provided one that raised suspicions due to discrepancies in its appearance.
Investigation Findings
Upon further investigation, Patrolman Spotloe discovered that the passport did not conform to the standards of authentic Guatemalan passports. The font was larger than usual, and the document lacked the necessary security features. Additionally, the date of birth listed on the passport was incorrect. Josue reportedly appeared nervous and eventually admitted that the passport was fake.
Legal Consequences
Josue is currently being held at Tygart Valley Regional Jail on a cash-only bond of $30,000. He faces charges including forgery of a certificate and registration. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for October 14 in Upshur County Magistrate Court.
