Taiwan Reinstates Visa Applications for Moroccan Nationals
Taiwan has resumed processing visa applications from Moroccan citizens following Morocco's decision to accept Taiwanese visa applications again. This change, effective immediately, marks the end of a months-long suspension.

Effective October 12, 2026, Taiwan has restarted the processing of visa applications from Moroccan nationals. This decision comes after Morocco confirmed it would again accept visa applications from Taiwanese citizens, a suspension that had been in place since July.
Background of the Visa Suspension
The visa processing suspension began when the Moroccan Embassy in Japan halted the review of Visa Confirmation Letter (VCL) applications from Taiwanese nationals on July 23, 2026, without providing a reason. In response, Taiwan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) announced it would also suspend visa applications from Moroccan citizens starting July 31, citing the principle of reciprocity.
Resumption of Applications
MOFA welcomed Morocco's recent decision to resume accepting applications from Taiwanese nationals, which was confirmed on September 21. Following this, Taiwan decided to reciprocate by allowing Moroccan nationals to apply for visas once again.
Current Visa Application Process
Moroccan nationals interested in applying for a visa to Taiwan can now submit their applications as the processing has resumed. However, it is advisable for applicants to check for any specific requirements or updates related to their visa category.
This development is expected to enhance bilateral exchanges and facilitate travel between Taiwan and Morocco, which had been significantly affected by the earlier suspension.
