DR Congo Enhances E-Visa Management with New Digital Platform
The Democratic Republic of Congo is advancing plans for an integrated electronic visa management platform to streamline consular procedures and improve visa application processing.

The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is making significant strides towards establishing an integrated electronic visa (e-Visa) management platform aimed at simplifying consular processes and enhancing the efficiency of visa application handling.
Project Overview
On October 14, Digital Economy Minister Augustin Kibassa Maliba and Foreign Affairs Minister Thérèse Kayikwamba Wagner convened to discuss the acceleration of this digital initiative. The goal is to centralize visa application management within a single digital platform, thereby making it easier for users to navigate consular services.
Objectives and Benefits
The new system is designed to streamline administrative procedures and improve transparency in the processing of applications. This initiative is part of the DRC government's broader digital development strategy for 2026–2028, which includes enhancements to digital identity and the establishment of a digital one-stop-shop for public services.
Current E-Visa System
While the DRC already has an official e-Visa application portal managed by its Directorate-General of Migration, the upcoming integrated platform will focus on organizing and centralizing the entire visa application process, rather than just providing an online application form.
This initiative reflects the government's commitment to modernizing its consular services and enhancing the travel experience for visitors to the DRC.
