Air Serbia to Launch Nonstop Belgrade–Miami Flights on 20 May 2027
Air Serbia will begin twice-weekly nonstop flights between Belgrade and Miami on 20 May 2027 using Airbus A330-200 aircraft. It becomes the airline's longest scheduled route and its third destination in the United States.

Air Serbia will start nonstop flights between Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport (BEG) and Miami International Airport (MIA) on 20 May 2027. The Serbian flag carrier's chief executive, Jiří Marek, confirmed the route in an interview with Serbian broadcaster RTS on 19 October 2026, with tickets going on sale the following day.
The service will run twice a week and will be the first direct air link between Serbia and Florida. At roughly 5,471 miles (8,805 km), it will also be Air Serbia's longest scheduled route.

What is the flight schedule?
Flight JU502 leaves Belgrade at 1:50 PM on Thursdays and at 11:30 AM on Sundays, arriving in Miami at 7:50 PM and 5:30 PM respectively after a 12-hour journey. The return service, JU503, departs Miami at 10:30 PM on Thursdays and 7:00 PM on Sundays, landing in Belgrade the following afternoon after about 10 hours 30 minutes.
Which aircraft and cabins will be used?
Air Serbia will operate the route with its Airbus A330-200 fleet, offering business and economy class. The airline's two newest A330s are configured with 22 business class and 240 economy class seats, although seat configurations vary across the four-aircraft fleet.
Why has Air Serbia chosen Miami?
Miami was the busiest unserved United States market from Belgrade, with nearly 20,000 passengers travelling between the two cities on connecting, single-ticket itineraries in 2025. Traffic grew approximately 40% from the previous year despite the absence of nonstop flights. Historical estimates also point to around 120,000 annual indirect passengers between Miami and a region spanning the former Yugoslavia, Albania, Bulgaria, Romania and Greece, though the source notes these figures represent a potential market rather than guaranteed travellers.
Marek said Miami is "the first destination where success would rely on combining multiple market segments". American Airlines operates a major hub in Miami, and Air Serbia already has an interline agreement with the airline, although the source says convenient connections and codeshare benefits are not assured.
How does Miami fit Air Serbia's long-haul network?
Miami will be Air Serbia's third US destination, after New York JFK, launched in June 2016, and Chicago O'Hare, launched in May 2023. It is the airline's fourth North American destination following Toronto, which began in May 2026, and its sixth scheduled intercontinental destination overall, after Guangzhou (September 2024) and Shanghai (January 2025). The Florida route will exceed Shanghai by approximately 230 miles (370 km).
The network will be supported by just four Airbus A330-200s. One aircraft, registered YU-ARC, was expected to leave the fleet when its lease expired in late 2026, but Marek said the airline was working to extend the lease. Longer-term plans have envisaged up to eight widebody aircraft, although no additional A330 acquisitions have been confirmed. Air Serbia has announced plans to welcome four aircraft in 2027 — two A320s, an Embraer E195 and another Airbus aircraft still under negotiation — supporting new services to Helsinki, Yerevan, Cluj-Napoca, Chișinău and Menorca.
What this means for travellers
Travellers wanting the new link should note that flights operate only on Thursdays and Sundays, in both directions. Tickets have been available since 20 October 2026. The inaugural flight falls five days after the opening of Expo 2027 in Belgrade, which runs from 15 May to 15 August 2027 and which Air Serbia expects to generate around 500,000 additional air passengers.
